Bangkok Expedition Day 2 - Guest-Blogged By 浪迹天涯小狗

16 Sept 2006

The mistress and her kakis got out of bed with just 2 hrs worth of sleep and dragged the still sleeping me and my kakis into the bitter cold morning air. Thankfully I'm clothed in my hip hop sweater. I wouldnt say the same for my kakis but they shld be relatively warm inside the bag.

The streets were quiet, with some remains of the partying a couple of hours ago. Some were dismantling their tents, some were loitering ard while most of the town seems to be in dreamland.

A cab came and drove us all towards a farland (bcos the mistress doesnt noe where) amidst the darkness. The mistress and frens tried to keep awake in case we were driven off to sale but soon succumbed to the Z monster. Journey took 1hr+ close to 2 hrs while we had a toilet break at a petrol kiosk and lost for a while finding the exact location in some quiet streets.

We reached the place at 5+ close to 6am. The surrounding is still in dreamland state. After exploring the que and the area, all of us crawled back into the cab to catch some winks.

Daybreak!

Finally the gates were opened and one-by-one, the vehicles were allowed to enter.

Wat were we waiting for roaming ard in the early streets of BKK u ask?

This.

Oh not the chicks n roosters.

This!

Ok la, it was some acclaimed fortune reader(?) or something. Flocks of tourists came in their huge-ass buses n camped overnite (the earliest came at 1am!) in their vehicles jus waiting for a chance to meet the man himself.

And so we waited, entertaining ourselves playing with the functions of our cameras, sleeping on the hard chairs, eating the breakfast provided, disturbing chickens, etc etc. The mistress actually saw a huge fat COLORED lizard in the toilet but was too slow to whip out her camera to catch a shot. Its a kampung kinda of toilet u see, so u jus get everything unexpected! RR and the rest would have jus freaked out at the sight of even a NORMAL lizard!

Rooster.

Macro-ing the fly, which is in a nice shade of blue.

Macro-ing the morning dew.

Macros some more.

Macro-ing the flowerbud

The sunlight thru the trees.

Guess wat? Its the macro view of the carpet.

Our turn came at ard 12+, numbers 100 to 102. The process took abt a min. Ya, queing for like 6 hours for 1 min.

He said the mistress is borned with good fortune, but has a bad temper, and jus speaks "straightly/hastely". Dun really understand the accent lah.

Anyway the 3 of them seems to have received the same kinda feedback when they compared the sayings in the cab back. True or not, up to those who wanna go to test it out. Transport there is not cheap. We had to book the cab and its ard SG$50 each.

On the way back, we're totally exhausted. The 2 girls slept at the back for most of the journey, thru rain and shine.

The mistress digs her panasonic! This was taken in a moving cab along a quiet highway.

The looming storm awaits us.

We only got to rest for a short while back at the hotel b4 getting pulled out again, to MBK area this time round.

Hotel Intercontinental

We passed by this 四面佛 and went in to for some prayers.

The smoke is darn choking and mistress had her eyes stung by the tonnes of incense smoke. Practically couldnt open her tearing eyes and took a while outside the area b4 her vision recovers.

Some dance performance at near the altar.

The crowd.

Zooms in at the statue.

And where did the mistress take the zoomed in picture from?

A nearby overhead bridge. Woot!

The road from the overhead bridge.

We walked ard the posh shopping malls, buying nothing, b4 ending up at MBK and looking for the Jap restaurant for dinner.

The mistress's order. And yes, those are garlics, which she din touch.

More from the menu.

Sashimi!

We ordered quite a bit since its rather cheap and its nice! Ends up walking ard very full and buying only a couple of stuff from the area.

Day 3 up pretty soon!
